The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and HealthyChildren.org are inviting all aspiring artists in third through 12th grades to submit their works of art in the 11th annual American Academy of Pediatrics National Children's Art Contest! Children are encouraged to submit original artwork inspired by the 2015 theme, "It's Fun to be Fit."
First-place winners will win a trip to Washington, DC to receive a $500 cash prize and up to $1,000 in travel-related expenses during a special presentation at the AAP National Conference & Exhibition on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015. The contest is open to children in three categories:
- Third through fifth graders
- Sixth through eighth graders
- Ninth through 12th graders
First and second place winners from each group will be selected. Second place winners will be awarded a $250 cash prize.
The six winners' schools will also be awarded with matching cash amounts. Children ages 13 to 18 years from outside the USA are also welcome to submit their works of art. One winner will be selected to receive a 500 USD prize, with a matching amount for their school or home school.
